A New Look!
Well, it's been about a month since we've been here and so I thought that deserved an actual post on the blog! (Are you shocked Chad and Amy?!?) We changed things up a bit for a fresh new look for our fresh, new journey back here. I'm not sure what this blog will be about as time goes on, but mainly about our life here and life with young children. Sorry to disappoint anyone out there. If you are looking for a profound blog or something more interesting, you will have to look elsewhere. But, if you just want a little peek into our world and hear some funny stories, you've come to the right place I guess. We'll try to keep the humor coming. Read on...We are starting to feel a tiny bit settled as we now have most of the comforts of home- a couch, kitchen table, beds, etc. We are still waiting on our crate to arrive so we can get completely settled and B can have her own crib. I know we will feel much better once that arrives and we can get completely unpacked. We are enjoying our house, it's nice to be back in the same neighborhood to see familiar faces and places.Things are going slow right now ministry wise, while we try and get re-acquainted with things and settled in ,etc. It's been really nice to spend our days together just hanging out or going on walks. The girls seem to have adjusted well, B is happy as could be and it's fun to watch C discover new things. C saw the back of a book from our home church, it had a picture of the church on it, and she recognized it and said "Dat's my chuch!" It was really cute and I was really glad she recognized something from Texas. We keep telling her when she asks about family or friends that they are in Texas. So now, when she can't find something or asks about a friend or something she stops and looks at me and says, "It's in Texie Mama."God is teaching us a lot right now. Patience being one of those things. We have all been stressed out at times and have found it hard trying to set up house and other things with a 2 year old and an 8 month old. We've had to remind ourselves that we have just crossed cultures and are tired, stressed, and so are the girls, etc. C has been acting out her stress in funny ways I think. One thing is that she is obsessed about having a bow in her hair. She wakes up and the first thing she asks for, and so desperately I might add, is a bow! If it falls out or becomes loose, she runs to me in a panic asking me to fix her bow. It's just been interesting watching her adjust and deal with things in her own little world. So, as we all go through this adjustment period, we just have to stay at Jesus' feet and have a little patience with one another. Thanks for sticking with us here, those of you that kept looking for a post for a little over a year! So sorry. I will try to be more regular about posting and adding pictures.See ya later!
