Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, excerpts of Wikipedia articles and IMDb profiles, inline videos, MP3s, stock charts and more.

Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you “look ahead,” before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Daddy and His Girls

When Cerys was born, we thought for sure she was going to be a boy. That's just the way it is in the Verlander family- lots of boys. Now we have 2 precious girls and they think their Daddy hung the moon! I love hearing them laugh with Marc. He can get them giggling like no one else, and it's absolutely precious.

I'm so thankful for a husband who is involved in everything that raising two young ones comes with...diaper changes, bath time, etc. I am very blessed to have him. I'm so thankful for his influence in our girls' lives. Happy Father's Day!

Love,
Your Girls

And to our Dad's if they are reading-

Thank you Dad for being present and loving us, we were a package deal! And thank you for staying so patient with me when we were doing Math and Spanish homework. It's all so foreign you know! ;)

Thank you to Marc's dad, for your love and support that means so much to us. You've done so much for us and we really appreciate you!

The girls are crazy about you both!

Surprise! You're A Winner!

We just celebrated our anniversary, Father's Day is tomorrow, and Marc's birthday is at the end of the month. So I've been trying to think of something I could get him. I wanted to get something special, something that he would not go out and just buy for himself, and something that would be useful. So, this morning I surprised him and told him we needed to get ready because we were going into City Centre to buy him a present. I told him where to park, and just to follow me as we found our way back behind some shops...to the Apple store.

As I stopped in front of the store, I turned to see his face and he was in total shock. Then I had to explain myself. I started blurting out things like...I know you are in shock, let me explain, you never buy anything for yourself, this your happy anniversary-father's day-birthday gift, etc. I was so hoping he would not try and talk me out of buying him anything in the Apple store, because I really wanted to do this for him. I hesitated to even write this, lest you think we are just rollin' in it. We are not, I assure you. I just wanted him to have something that he would love and use, and I knew he would never buy anything like this "just because." So, we went inside and he picked out the color and we got him an ipod shuffle. Y'all, the thing is tiny! And so cute. I'm sure that is exactly what Marc was thinking. :)

So we walked out of the store, me doing some deep breathing because I just paid, um, a lot for something so tiny, and Marc had a huge smile on his face. And it was worth it.

We decided to walk around city centre some more since we were there, and we made our way into an indoor shopping center called St. David's. I had read in the newspaper this last week that they would be giving away gift vouchers to Dad's sometime on Saturday. The paper said that the manager of the center would walk around and at random tap Dad's on the shoulder and give them gift vouchers. As we walked in, I told Marc how cool that would be if we got one. Well, about 10 minutes later, two ladies walked up to us and said, "Congratulations! You're one of our winners, Happy Father's Day!" I could have screamed. I thought about it. But I didn't want to embarrass Marc. They handed Marc some chocolates, and gave some to the girls as well, and then gave him a £50 gift card to a department store called Debenhams! HA! What a great morning! We could not believe that he was one of the ten winners!

Now I just need him to go load that shuffle up with songs so I can try it out too! ;)

I love that the ipod shuffle is smaller than the gift card!

Cardiff Has Talent!

I'm a sucker for reality TV shows and talent contests. That's why, up until recently, Friday night was my favorite night because we would eat pizza and watch American Idol.

Anyway, a new show here is Britain's Got Talent. It's just like America's Got Talent that Regis Philbin hosted last year. Well, our Simon Cowell is one of the judges, and Peirs Morgan who was also on the American version. So on last night's episode, they were showing the Cardiff auditions. Take a look at this video! Our very own talent from Cardiff!

Belated Anniversary Presents!

Two posts in one day! Could only mean one thing...

My husband just came home from London and brought some surprises for me! Why? He said it's a belated anniversary celebration!

He brought my favorite meal- Chicken Quesadillas from Chili's AND my favorite donut from Krispy Kreme !!! There is a Krispy Kreme in Heathrow Airport now and he stopped in Reading, England (0n the way home from London) at the Chili's! What a guy!

I'm totally trying to lose weight, so this will not help! But since he did something so sweet, I'm totally eating it! I don't even want to know how much it cost, since £1= $2!

Thank you honey!

Time Flies!

Josh, holding up Caerphilly Castle!

Josh and Bailey in the ball pit! Bailey's head looks like one of the balls, she's so bald!

As I type this, Marc is driving my little brother to Heathrow so he can fly back to Dallas. He has a full schedule ahead of him..summer jobs, getting back into shape he says...after being in Wales for 2 weeks and not playing much basketball. He also has to decide what college he will attend. I'm so glad he took these last 2 weeks to come visit us before he's off to school. What a big transition in life, not only for him, but for my parents. I still have one younger brother (Hey Uncle Buddy!) at home, so they are not empty-nesters...yet. We enjoyed our time with Josh. We visited several castles, he went horse back riding on the beach, and climbed the tallest mountain in South Wales with Marc. Not to mention playing with Cerys and Bailey! We told Cerys last night that Uncle Josh has to get on a plane today and go back to Texas. She just kind of looked at us, not sure what to think. So this morning she was constantly asking, "Josh, you go back to Texy to-day?" I wish I could help her understand, but it's so hard at this age. It's great when family comes to visit, we have what I call, really "concentrated" time together! But then when it's time to go back home, it's really hard. I usually spend the day people leave, feeling down and missing family and friends in Texas even more. But I know we are here for this time in our lives and I'm certain of our call here. It's just hard being apart from family and friends.

So, Josh, if you read this- We are missing you already and Cerys will probably ask all day when you are coming back. We hope you had a great time here seeing the sights and hanging out with us. Enjoy the rest of your summer break, before you're off to college! I still can't believe you are old enough to go off to college! When you were born, I was just a little 6th grader with chicken pox and I couldn't come near you for several weeks. Time flies by, so enjoy your last few months of life at home with mom's cooking and laundry services! ;) Hopefully, we'll see you in November and we will look forward to hearing about your first semester at college!
