Sorry Nannie that we made you get your picture taken in front of this sign. :)

Funny

I have some pictures to show you but it's not working for some reason, so I will leave you with something Cerys said this week while driving around- there was a smoke stack puffing out a lot of white smoke near Pontypool and Cerys said,

"Hey, God's putting more clouds in!"

Precious.

For A Limited Time Only!!!

There are a whole host of reasons why I did not want to show this picture, although it does capture my surprise quite well. I am not mad in this picture, just extremely confused and completely shocked!!! After my thoughts came back to me, the only thing I could say was "Does Marc know your here?!" Duh. Marc had conveniently gone out back because he knew if he was in the house I would have asked him to answer the door.

So, for a LIMITED time only, here's is the dreaded photo:

SORRY IF YOU MISSED IT. WELL, NOT REALLY. GLAD IT'S GONE! :)

Well, Isn't He Funny?!?!

Imagine my surprise today when I log onto the blog and see that my husband posted something?!?! Not only did he post something, but he threatens to show the surprise photo to everyone. Well, honey, you are so funny. But that photo does not need to be shown on the world wide web.

I love you too. Miss you. Hurry home.

The Picture

Greetings from Peachtree City, GA

I've seen several of your comments concerning the picture that captured the moment that Charity's Mom showed up at the door. Rest assured that if Charity doesn't post the picture before I get home, I will post it when I get back! The picture is priceless.

Love you sweetheart!

Marc

Busy Busy!

I'm sorry, but the picture is just too horrible to show I've decided.

We are busy doing fun things, so this will be short! We have been to Pontypool and to see where the Coal House was filmed because I'm still obsessed apparently. (Don't laugh Anna!) Today we went shopping in City Centre and to a castle this afternoon and dinner at a pub tonight. My family wanted an "authentic" pub to eat in, so I took them to one that was built in 1890...I would say that is pretty authentic, wouldn't you? Tomorrow we are off to an outdoor museum of Welsh Life, a very fun place to visit if you ever come to Wales. Friday after Jolly Tots, we are going to eat Fish and Chips on the pier in Penarth and then Saturday we are going to a huge car boot sale for my grandmother and aunt who love going to garage sales.

The week is going fast, a good thing because I miss Marc, but a bad thing because I will be depressed when the leave. The girls are having an absolute blast. Bailey woke up this morning calling for her Gigi, so that was a sweet thing for my mom!

Be back later with pictures!

A Mother's Day Surprise!

Today is Mother's Day here in the UK! We celebrated a bit early by eating out last night at a gourmet burger place in the bay, which was lovely. Then this morning, Marc got up with the girls and allowed me to sleep in an extra hour which was even more fabulous! I came downstairs to a vase of my favorite flowers- the tulip- and cards from my man and girls.

Some of you know that Marc is leaving early in the morning for the States, for 11 days. I've been really bummed about it, but I know he will have a good time. He's participating in a conference in the Atlanta area and then will be in some meetings in Virginia the rest of the time. I did tell him he's not allowed to have any fun without me. :) A while back we had asked my aunt and my grandmother to come over for some of this time so I would not be alone with the girls, etc. They made their plans back at Christmas time and they arrived this afternoon! My mom and dad both work and they were not able to come over. But I was just thrilled with having my aunt and Nannie!

The girls were so excited waiting at the back door for them to arrive this afternoon! We all went into the living room and were chatting for a few minutes when there was knock at the front door. I went to open the door and who did I find?!?

MY MOTHER!

She has been planning this surprise since Christmas as well! Y'all, all words left my mouth when I saw her. She had her camera in hand and took a hideous picture of me in total shock! I am debating about whether to show you or not! I could not think of anything to say, but Marc walked up behind me and said, "Happy Mother's Day honey!" I just stood there bawling like a baby. I could not believe everyone had kept this from me, I had NO clue she would be able to come. I even spoke with her on her cell phone yesterday from the airport and I still had no clue! Isn't my husband the best?!? He arranged everything for them to come!

What a blessing to have my mother, my aunt and my grandmother here all to myself!

Media_http3bpblogspot_ndsbc

(I'm sure none of them will appreciate me putting this picture on here since they are jet-lagged and exhausted, and we had just gotten up from nap! )

I'm pretty sure Marc is glad he's leaving in the morning! ;) Thank you honey, you're the best!

Saint David's Day

Today is Saint David's Day here in Wales. He is the patron saint of Wales. Here's a little about it from Wikipedia-

"The date of March 1st was chosen in remembrance of the death of Saint David on that day in 589, and has been celebrated by followers since then. The date was declared a national day of celebration within Wales in the 18th century."

"Many Welsh people wear one or both of the national emblems of Wales on their lapel to celebrate St. David: the daffodil (a generic Welsh symbol which is in season during March) or the leek (Saint David's personal symbol) on this day. The association between leeks and daffodils is strengthened by the fact that they have similar names in Welsh, Cenhinen (leek) and Cenhinen Bedr (daffodil, literally "Peter's leek")."

"Males usually wear leeks while young girls wear daffodils. The younger girls usually wear their Welsh costumes to school. This costume consists of a long woollen skirt, white blouse, woollen shawl and a
Welsh hat."

"The
Welsh flag is always flown in honour of St. David on days in which he is honoured or commemorated."

There was a big parade in town today, but we didn't make it, it was at the same time as nap time and I just couldn't do it today.

Happy St. David's Day to my Welsh friends!

Show and Tell!

Thanks y'all for your kind comments and encouragement! One of my goals for 2008 was "learn to sew" so I am happy to have made a start. I was so inspired by Bend The Rules Sewing by Amy Karol that I couldn't help but jump in and get going! I have a pupper theatre lined up to make, some placemats, and another zippy purse (for myself, these one pound coins are heavy!).

Y'all are the best! Thanks!

Well, here's what I've been working on lately. You more experienced sewers, please don't enlarge and look closely :)
