LegoLand '08
Yesterday we drove about 2 hours from here to Windsor to go to Legoland. We got some "free" vouchers through our grocery store rewards system and decided to use them! When I say "free" I mean that we've bought enough groceries over the last however many months to get these vouchers, so technically they were not free, but we didn't have to pay anything to get in yesterday. Anyway. We left our house at 8am and drove to Windsor. The weather was beautiful and in the mid 60's so it was a perfect day! The girls were so excited to go and the whole way there Cerys kept saying, "I can't wait to get to Candy Land!" Sorry honey, it's LEGOLAND! I think we said that fifty million times in the 2 hour car ride.I was quite impressed with Legoland, it was relatively clean and easy to find your way around. They have lots and lots to do for our younger girls so that was wonderful! Cerys is our little roller coaster girl, that's for sure! She is her Daddy's girl. :) We were so proud of her because she is usually quite timid about new situations but she jumped in and road all of the rides that she was tall enough for...and even went on one of the bigger coasters with her Daddy. She was just barely tall enough to ride with an adult! Bailey and I stood on this platform that is right at a tall drop and the coaster goes under this platform- the look on her face was priceless! It was a mix of being scared out of her mind and the biggest thrill of her life! It was really cute. She came off with a big grin and wanted to ride again! Thankfully the park was not crowded at all and we actually walked on to most rides, no waiting! So her and her Daddy went right back on it for a second ride!Apart from family rides- the train that takes you around the park, two boat rides, and some other things, Bailey was just a few inches too short! But she still had a great time. There was a huge playground which was a big hit for both girls! Had we know, we might have taken their swimsuits because they a water slide and a playground that had fountains coming up from out of the ground to play in. Anyway, here are some pictures from our day!
One of the boat rides was a Fairy Tale theme- most characters and features in the park were made of Legos'...obviously!
The giant playground, this is only one tiny part of it.
There was one section full of mini-cities- here's a football pitch
Having fun!
Marc and Cerys on the log ride, this is the only ride that Cerys got a nervous laugh on, but I think she liked it!Lots and lots of things made out of Legos-
10am-5pm at Legoland= two worn out girls!
The best part of the day for me, well besides seeing my girls have a great time...was on the way home we stopped in Reading to eat dinner. We ordered take out chips and salsa from Chili's and Krispy Kreme. :) I told Marc on the way there that I thought I could just drink the salsa and would be happy. When he got our order, they had put our salsa in a kid's cup...even more reason to stick a straw in and drink it! He didn't let me though. :)We had a great day!
