Rough Day

So, it's been a rough day for some reason. Actually for a few reasons- a bossy four year old, a newly toilet trained almost three year old, and a fussy 10 week old. Ya, I think those are the reasons.

I'm still not completely over jet-lag. Or am I? I don't really know. I was trying to think about that today- is it jet-lag or just being a mommy and wife? I was even yawning at the gym today, what is that all about? I've decided I need to go to bed a lot earlier than I have been doing. Surely that will help. Surely.

People told me that having a third child would be no different from having two. I disagree. While Addison is a fairly laid back child, she's still a child to be cared for! And dividing my time with all three seems impossible right now. It seems that every time one of the big girls needs something from me, I'm feeding Addison. That's when the guilt creeps in. I feel bad for them because I feel like I'm always giving them an "excuse." I don't want them to resent Addison or me, but sometimes I feel like they do.

Anyway, enough about that. I could share with you that Cerys asked me if I had another baby in my tummy today. Nice. "No, honey that is why mommy is going to the gym twice a week!"

I've just decided that being a mommy and wife are super hard and I will have some good days and harder days.

And I've decided I've never been more in need of Jesus!

Cleaning off the Camera

Here are some recent pictures from the camera-

We brought a Bumbo back with us, and I was trying it out the other night. You will also notice the giant bow on her head. I brought back a few of those as well, much to Marc's chagrin.

And this little hat, which Marc refers to as her "1930's swimming cap." Addison was not really in the mood to wear it.

In the Spring and Summer, the girls wear these little gingham dresses to school. You can buy them in different colors, depending on what color your school uniform is. She was very happy to have a new dress for school!

Daddy and the girls- not sure what Bailey is doing!

Media_http3bpblogspot_cpibd

And this picture of Bailey depicts what I deal with day in and day out...it's a good thing she's so cute because sometimes her attitude is not! She had three accidents yesterday, one of them while sitting on our couch. Does she care? No, not really. She just puts her hand on her hips and says, "Guess I need some new panties!"

Girls, you keep us on our toes, but we sure do love you!

Happy Birthday Mum!

Today is my Mom's birthday and I just want to tell her that I appreciate her now, more than ever! Having your own kids kinda makes you realize what your parents went through and I have a new found appreciation for them! After spending two weeks with them and letting them take care of our girls, I would catch my mom just laughing and remembering what it was like when I was a little girl. Fun Times!

Happy Birthday Mom, we love you!

The Last Texas Post- Aren't You Glad?

This is the last of pictures that I will post about our trip. There are too many pictures, so it was hard to cut it down to just a few.

My little brother is the assistant manager of a Dunkin' Donuts, so one day we let the girls pick out their own donut.

Cerys chose strawberry...

And Bailey chose chocolate (just like her mother!)...

Can you tell how much she enjoyed that?

I love this next picture- Addison and her Great-Grandmother, my Nannie! She thought Nannie was pretty funny!

Our last Friday there was the day that Bailey got her ear tubes in- here she is in her pj's at the hospital. We were up early that day, had to be there at 5:30am

After we got home that day, my sweet friend from Arkansas came to see us! She was my maid of honor in our wedding. She drove all the way from Conway, AR just to spend Friday with me! I had not seen her in five years, way too long!!!! We really enjoyed just hanging at my parents house, talking and catching up on life.

Blowout

Today was The Great Nappy (Diaper) Blowout of 2009. I've lived through some pretty impressive blowouts, but today, I had to call in back-up. We had just been for Addison's 8 week check-up (even though she's 9 weeks!) and she got her first immunisations- yes that is how Brits spell it. She screamed her head off, bless her heart and I ended up nursing her to get her to calm down.

As soon as we got home I was rocking her in the office chair- it's the only chair that rocks in our house. Not very comfortable or nice, but hey, it works! Her face turned red, she grunted and it was a loud one. Then she smiled really big. She was so cute that I just sat there talking to her and smiling back. After a few minutes, when I was sure she was finished, I laid her down on the changing table and proceeded to change her. I didn't notice anything leaking from the sides her nappy so I was quite pleased that it was not going to be as bad as it sounded.

I was very wrong.

It was up her back to her shoulders y'all! It was all over her onesie that she had on under her outfit and her outfit..well, it's now yellow. I yelled for help and Marc, who was thankfully home at the time, came in and just said, "WOW!" We managed to get her onesie off, but it is now in the rubbish bin. There was no point in washing it. I put her straight in the bathtub, which she totally enjoyed. How do I know? She was kicked back, totally relaxed, with a sideways grin on her face! So cute!

It's amazing how much comes out of a little baby! Did I tell you about her projectile spit-up yesterday? No? Oh, it was gross too. I had her over my shoulder as I was walking out of the living room and out it came...hit the hardwood floors and splattered all over the wall, couch, chair and door.

I've done a lot of laundry the past two days.

*Guess who is potty trained! :) Miss Bailey is in big girl panties during the day! We are so proud of her. I tried potty training her right after Addison was born...why? Why would I even attempt something like that so soon after giving birth? It did not work and I was too tired. We tried again just after getting back from our trip, the Ariel panties I got at Target really helped I think!

Texas, Part 3

We spent two days (not enough time!) with Marc's brother and sister-in-law. We had such a fun time! They have three boys, about the same ages as our girls so there was never a dull moment!

There's a happening mall (note sarcasm) in Sherman, TX! They have an indoor play place called Jump Land or something like that. It's a huge space full of bouncy castles and climbing frames. Our kids were all over that place! It's a good way to wear them down, get all their energy out...until another kid wets her pants in the climbing frame and one of your kids steps in it...then it's time to go! :)

I think it's safe to say that Bailey LOVED the big slide!

Media_http1bpblogspot_ngiye

The kids enjoyed playing outside too- this is Spencer, isn't he cute? He and Bailey are 4 months apart.

Cerys and Jacob- 9 months apart

Texas, Part 2

Saturday, before Easter, we got together with some of our closest friends from college. We had such a fun time. I can't believe we did not get a group picture! We always get a group picture!!! Anyway, the girls enjoyed dressing up and playing together...

The girls got Easter baskets from my parents-

The girls enjoyed doing their Easter hunt- indoors because it had just rained all morning.

I'm so tired....

I have lots more pictures to post but I'm too tired to do it right now. Jet lag really got us this time for some reason?!? I'm wide awake from about midnight till 2am and then of course Addison usually wakes up between 5am and 6am to eat, thankfully she goes right back to sleep. But then it's time to get up to get Cerys to school in time! The girls seem to have adjusted quicker. The first few nights we were back home they were yelling "GOOD MORNING" from their beds around midnight. Ugh. They are fine now though and sleeping like champs again!

I also went to the gym today. Remember the one I joined when I was newly pregnant? Ya, well I never went until today. I felt like a dork trying to figure out all the machines. I even locked a few lockers in the girls' room trying to figure out how to use them. You put in a 4- digit code to lock them and I thought you had to enter a code first to get them open. So I ended up locking three or four of them. A lady that was watching me asked if I was okay and I asked her how to know what lockers are free to use and she replied, "Umm, the ones that open." Okay! Thankyouverymuch. I am a dork with a capitol D folks.

We've had several hail storms today. Why does it hail here so often? Is the atmosphere so cold that it just hangs in the air? I have no idea what I just said.

I am taking Bailey on Friday to register for Nursery. How can this be? She's too young!!! She will start morning Nursery in September, and Cerys will start Reception which is all day school. And she's only 4 years old! I'm thankful that she loves her school though. She is not happy about moving up to Reception because she will not have the same teacher. I tried to explain it to her but she just does not get it.

I could have uploaded pictures in the time it has taken me to post this. Oh well. Maybe I'll try tonight once all the little girls are in bed!

And I would really like to change this blog's layout. And I need to update the picture at the top!

Very Cool

My new obsession? Checking my kids' ears! I got this at Wal-mart for $15 and it's so cool. The number of ear infections that Bailey has had alone makes it worth it. It comes with a picture guide that tells you what to look for and how to know if it's infected.

I'm not sure how many times I have asked our health visitor to check the girls' ears for me and she always says I need to make an appointment with a doctor. Still not sure what her role is. Anyway. Argh! Now, I can at least tell if the ear is red or pink and I know an infection is probably on the way!

Don't ask Marc how many times I've asked to look in his ears. He won't let me. Party pooper!

*Yes, I can see Bailey's shiny new ear tubes too! :)
