7.5 Months and Mary Janes

I am completely behind in taking Addison's 7 month picture, so here it is, a bit late...

I finally knitted those Mary Janes I had planned on doing while I was pregnant with her. Ha. They are so cute I think, but won't stay on her foot for anything! I caught one this morning in the church car park as it was falling off her foot- I would have been sick if it had landed in the muddy puddle!

Doesn't she looked thrilled!

Um, okay so the precious bow? One of our gap year girls gave 3 of them to us. Her mom makes them and I am about to place an order! The pink headband has a small piece of fabric on it that allows any different bow to clip on to it. How cool is that? So I have 3 brown/pink bows that go on this one headband. I love it!

Addison, at 7.5 months you are desperate to be mobile. You can get up on your knees for about .5 seconds, but I know you want to crawl so bad. I am secretly hoping you don't. Time is flying sweetie and I want you to stay wittle forever. Actually, there is not much that is little about you and I love it! You are almost 20 pounds! Mommy has a wrist problem because of it. :) You are so happy and content, in the mornings I can hear you babbling away in the monitor. Speaking of babbling, you sure do "talk" a lot. I know you are just trying to keep up with your big sisters, who by the way, absolutely adore you! You said "Dadadadadada" the other day and your Daddy is so proud. It's okay, because I know you love me too, especially since I am the one who feeds you. You love your "solid" food now, you are eating a good 3 meals a day. You are very serious about your food and always clean your plate.

We love you precious Addison and we are so happy that God surprised us with YOU! I can't imagine our family without you! And I want to eat your thighs.

No Pumpkin?

Y'all, a horrible thing has occurred. I can't buy pumpkin (in the tin/can) anymore!!! There was one store in city centre (House of Frasier) that sold pumpkin, along with other American food items. I went in there last week to get several cans of pumpkin for our upcoming Thanksgiving festivities...yes, I know it's only October but I was planning ahead! I was slightly alarmed when I saw nothing on the shelf, but tried to remain calm. I very nicely asked the lady behind the counter and she informed that they (meaning House of Frasier?!?) are not in charge of their own purchasing anymore so she could not tell me if they would ever get any in. There was only cereal (Lucky Charms) and some cake mixes there, a few things of candy and some Oreos. They use to have quite a selection of American food, but not anymore. She told me to try Wally's - which is a little delicatessen that sells all kinds of food and does carry some American things. Marc and I went in there today and before I could even get the question out of my mouth, the manager was shaking his had head no. He said he has been trying to get some but has not been able to yet.

Do these people not know that Thanksgiving is not that far away? And that I have relied on them (House of Frasier) for almost 6 years? And that I make my Nannie's Pumpkin Bread every year starting in October? And that I really, really would rather use a can instead of getting all frontier-ish and cooking a real pumpkin?

I guess not.

Cleaning Off Our Camera

Here are some recent pictures from the camera...

Our friends Dave and Anna came for dinner last week, here is their youngest- he is 2 months younger than Addison but weighs about the same I think! Hehehe. So cute!

We laughed about the time we use to actually have conversation at dinner instead of chasing kids around. Here is the crew...their 2 boys are so sweet!

Fancy a cuppa?

So I hope you read about the history of having an afternoon cuppa yesterday from the Typhoo link I left for you. Interesting, isn't it? Now I do enjoy a good cuppa, and I like Typhoo tea, but I'm giving away PG Tips today! They have special pyramid shaped bags which have something to do with the tea moving around and creating a better tasting cuppa, but I just think the pyramids are cute!

Here is what the winner will receive: a lovely Union Jack mug and a box of 80 PG Tips.

So, if you fancy a cuppa, leave your name in the comments section and tell me if you drink hot tea and if you do, what your favorite is! I will leave comments open until 12 noon tomorrow (6am CST) and will choose a winner shortly after that! This is open to whoever wants to enter- but I doubt my UK friends will care to win a box of their own tea!

(Mom, you can't enter. Sorry. If you want some tea I'll just send you some!)

Thé Pot

One of my favorite little cafe/tea rooms is a place near the girls' school called Thé Pot. It's a precious, rustic, French country-ish place and it makes me happy to sit at the mismatched chairs and tables and look at the whitewashed brick walls. I know, I'm strange. Today was one of those slightly overcast, fallish kind of days- so after collecting Bailey from school we walked over to the Thé Pot to get some lunch.

Here we are, waiting for our food-

See, isn't this a cute place?

Bailey wanted Cinnamon Toast, for lunch? Ok, whatever, sure, why not?

Media_http1bpblogspot_adgcb

I had a lovely sandwich on Foccacio bread with mozzarella, pesto and sun-dried tomatoes. YUM.

Hope your weekend is off to a lovely start...

BIG news!

A new indoor shopping centre, a.k.a A MALL is opening here in Cardiff soon!!! I'm not sure about all of the shops, but supposedly there is a new Tex-Mex restaurant that will be inside!

A big department store that is coming to Cardiff is called John Lewis, and it's opening first, this next Thursday. It's the biggest John Lewis store outside of London. Oooooohhhh, Ahhhhhhh. I don't think I've ever been in one, so I can't really tell you what it's like. So, all this week they have been placing these huge items around city centre to advertise for their store, aren't these cute?

There is also a huge wooden chair in front of City Hall, but I did not have the camera that day. I will be on the look out this weekend for any more and try to get a picture. I think there is an oriental dresser or table around but I have not found it yet.

Pretty fun advertising I would say!
I just wanted you to know that I'm sitting on our bed, under a CEILING FAN that my awesome husband installed over the weekend! It's the small things y'all. It is by no means hot this time of year, but just to have some air circulating is so wonderful....almost as wonderful as this little girl....

I went back to the gym today after not having been for a while. It was not fun. I have adopted the Nike saying, "Just Do It." I had to keep telling myself that the whole way there- just do it, just drive to the gym- no don't stop at Starbuck's, just go to the gym, no you are not going back home, just go, just do it! And, I just received my 30 Day Shred DVD in the post, so you know what I will be doing more regularly now. Oh joy.

(You will notice my sweet baby girl's chin and cheeks are clearing up! Thanks, Arbonne!)
