Rainy Monday
I had to laugh that some of you thought the pictures of my wig was a puppy! How funny! It would be nice to have a little puppy around (maybe) but it's just my Princess Leia wig. The theme for Holiday Bible Club is Star Wars, obviously. I'm about to attempt to make a Jedi cloak out of a brown sheet for my costume for Wednesday. It all starts tomorrow, as today is Bank Holiday here (and Happy Memorial Day for you in the states!). I'm just helping with Registration this year, but it should be fun. I'll try and remember my camera so you can see some of the other costumes through out the week. It's a dark, rainy and cool Monday here but I'm actually enjoying it! The girls are resting, my house is fairly tidy, and I've just been reading 1 Timothy. My vanilla candle is lit and there is some quiet instrumental music playing. It's days like this that I don't want to take a nap, though I could probably use one. I just love taking advantage of the quietness that is nap time around here and enjoy watching the rain fall. I've have not run in weeks, y'all. And I feel better after reading 1 Timothy 4:8-"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
Hahaha, thanks Paul! So, choosing to stay in and read my Bible and enjoy the quietness is a good choice for me today! I do feel better when I'm consistent in my running and weights, but from the time we packed and moved and then the stomach bug invaded our house...well, I just haven't done it! And I'm not about to run in the wind and rain today. Plus, I have chocolate chip cookies to make for our homegroup tonight-and that is way more fun than running! And speaking of fun! Tonight, instead of our usual homegroup study, someone is bringing a Wii, and we are just going to have a blast! I've never seen or played one, so this should be interesting. So, eating chocolate chip cookies and playing Wii are on the agenda tonight. Last week I just picked up my Bible and started reading in Romans for some reason. I've got a pink hi-lighter and I've just been reading straight through the New Testament. I've really enjoyed reading it like this and last night when I read 1 Thessalonians 3:13-14 I could not help but think about the Chapmans. What a precious family. I can't stop thinking about them and praying for them."Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
I'm so thankful that we do not grieve without hope! We do not walk around like men, without hope! Our prayer for students and this city is that all would know the hope that we have in Jesus!
